Vulnerability Management as a Service

Find every weakness. Fix what matters first.

Cybergen helps you choose the right vulnerability management tooling, then runs it for you as a service. We see your whole attack surface, cut thousands of findings down to the handful attackers will actually use, and work with your teams until they're fixed.

Two ways we help

The right tooling, run the right way

Most vulnerability programmes fail not because of the scanner, but because nobody has time to act on what it finds. Cybergen solves both sides of the problem.

The vulnerability overload

Thousands of findings. Only a few really matter.

Scanners report everything. Teams can only fix so much. Without risk-based prioritisation, effort goes on the wrong things while the vulnerabilities attackers are using stay open.

Risk-based prioritisation funnelIllustrative example: 12,480 findings narrow to 1,906 exploitable, 214 exposed on important assets and 18 to fix this week.12,480Vulnerability findingsEverything your scanners report1,906ExploitableA working exploit or known technique exists214Exposed and importantInternet-facing or on critical assets18Fix this weekActively exploited and reachable

Illustrative example of risk-based prioritisation

1

Is it exploitable?

We check whether a working exploit exists and whether attackers are using it in the wild.

2

Can an attacker reach it?

Internet-facing systems, edge devices and VPNs come first.

3

Does the asset matter?

Domain controllers, payment systems and customer data weigh more than a test server.

4

What should be fixed this week?

A short, clear list your teams can act on, with the reasons behind it.

Why it matters

Attackers are exploiting faster

20%

of breaches started with the exploitation of a vulnerability, a 34% increase on the previous year.

22%

of vulnerability exploitation targeted edge devices and VPNs, up from just 3% the year before.

54%

of those edge device vulnerabilities were fully remediated, taking a median of 32 days.

The vulnerability management lifecycle

A continuous cycle, not a quarterly scan

New vulnerabilities are published every day and your estate changes every week. We run vulnerability management as a continuous loop that steadily reduces your exposure.

Choosing vulnerability management tooling

The right platform, proven on your estate

Every vendor says their scanner is best. We help you find out which one is best for you, with evidence from your own environment.

Understand your needs

Assets, environments, team capacity, compliance drivers and budget.

Shortlist platforms

Leading vulnerability and exposure management platforms that fit your requirements.

Proof of value

Side-by-side trials on your assets, scored against agreed criteria.

Deploy and integrate

Scanners, agents and connectors to your ticketing, SIEM and CMDB.

Hand over or manage

Train your team to run it, or let Cybergen run it for you.

Vendor-neutral by design. We recommend what fits your environment, not what we happen to sell. If a tool you already own can do the job, we will tell you, and help you get more from it.

Vulnerability management as a service

What our managed service looks like

Your vulnerability programme, run every day by Cybergen specialists. You see exactly what is being found, what is being fixed and how your exposure is falling.

Clear tasks, not raw scan data

Every priority finding becomes an actionable task in your ticketing system, with the fix, the owner and the reason it matters.

Fixes tracked to agreed timescales

We agree remediation targets with you by severity, chase progress and escalate anything overdue, so nothing quietly slips.

Reporting the board understands

Monthly reports show exposure falling over time, with the evidence auditors and insurers ask for.

Vulnerability management FAQ

Your questions, answered

Can't see your question? Ask our team.

What is vulnerability management?

Vulnerability management is the continuous process of discovering assets, identifying security weaknesses, prioritising them by real-world risk, fixing them and verifying the fix. It is an ongoing programme rather than a one-off scan, because new vulnerabilities and new assets appear every day.

What is vulnerability management as a service?

Vulnerability management as a service means Cybergen runs the programme for you: we operate the scanning tooling, triage the results, prioritise what matters, raise remediation tasks with your teams, track them against agreed timescales, verify fixes and report on progress. You get the outcome without needing to build and staff the capability in-house.

Can you help us choose a vulnerability scanner?

Yes. We start with your environment, team and budget, shortlist suitable platforms from leading vendors, and run a structured proof of value so you can compare them on your own assets. We then deploy and integrate the chosen tool, and either hand it over with training or manage it for you.

How is vulnerability management different from penetration testing?

Vulnerability management continuously finds and tracks known weaknesses across your whole estate. Penetration testing is a point-in-time, manual assessment of a defined scope that shows how weaknesses can be exploited and chained together. The two work best together: continuous scanning keeps known issues under control, and CREST penetration testing finds what scanners miss.

Why not just fix everything with a high CVSS score?

CVSS describes how severe a vulnerability could be, not how likely it is to be exploited in your environment. Most organisations have far more high-scoring findings than they can fix. Cybergen prioritises using exploitability, known exploitation in the wild, threat intelligence, exposure to the internet and the importance of the affected asset, so your effort goes where the risk really is.

Does vulnerability management help with Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001?

Yes. Cyber Essentials requires high and critical updates to be applied within 14 days, and ISO 27001 requires technical vulnerabilities to be managed. A well-run programme gives you the evidence for these, as well as PCI DSS vulnerability scanning, NIS2, DORA and the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.

Can you cover cloud, containers and OT?

Yes. We design coverage across on-premises infrastructure, endpoints, cloud accounts, containers, web applications and external attack surface. For OT and industrial environments we use passive and carefully controlled techniques that respect safety and availability.

What happens when a major new vulnerability is announced?

When a significant vulnerability emerges, we check your environment for exposure, tell you whether you are affected and which assets are at risk, and help you prioritise mitigation or patching. Our threat intelligence team tracks which vulnerabilities attackers are actively exploiting.
